A man has pleaded guilty in connection to the sale of K2, which caused hundreds of people to overdose on the New Haven Green, officials say.
Quentin Staggers, 47, of New Haven, pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to distribute the synthetic cannabinoid K2.
Staggers sold K2 to people on the New Haven Green on Aug. 16, causing at least 114 overdoses which prompted a large police and emergency medical service response as well as a major city investigation, according to court documents.

Investigators say they conducted a trash pull at Staggers' Farren Avenue residence and discovered suspected K2 packaging.
The packaging and residue were submitted to the DEA's forensic laboratory for testing.
The tests confirmed the presence of a synthetic cannabinoid, a Schedule I, federally controlled substance.
Staggers was released on a $100,000. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 16 and could serve 20 years in prison.
