Police in Bridgeport are searching for a suspect they say shot and killed a man Saturday.
The shooting happened at the corner of East Main and Seymour streets at about 2:30 a.m. Police say 23-year-old Robert Pettway died of multiple gunshot wounds.
"The guy just pulled up on the side of him and started [shooting]," says Lyman Anderson, who witnessed the incident. "[Pettway was] a good guy man, real good guy. I pray for him."
Police marked off several bullet casings and questioned residents who live nearby, trying to determine the identity of the shooter. They say the shooting is the 11th homicide in Bridgeport this year.
