Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred near the 500 block of East Washington Avenue in Bridgeport.

According to authorities, officers responded to reports of an assault with a dangerous weapon at approximately 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from stab wounds on his upper body.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, but his condition has not been released. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
