Officials say a man is lucky to be alive after he was struck by a Metro-North train in Norwalk.
Authorities say the victim fell down an embankment and on to the tracks around 3 a.m. Sunday.
Officials say it happened just east of the South Norwalk station on the tracks behind 93 Washington St.
They say firefighters used an extension ladder and rescue basket to bring the man back to ground level.
Officials say he was taken to the hospital with just cuts and scratches.
