A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of a Sacred Heart University student.
Eddie Duran, 29, broke into the home of the victim at 2 a.m. in September about five years ago.
He claims he was looking for his lost dog, but he then choked and raped the student.
Duran apologized before a judge on Friday. According to the Connecticut Post, the judge told Duran he is a dangerous person.
After serving his sentence, Durant, a Mexican immigrant, will be deported back to his home country.
