Marist College has reopened its campus after a lockdown on Friday.
Campus officials say all classes and activities were canceled after they received an anonymous threat via Twitter at around 6 a.m. The threat warned that some form of shooting would take place on the campus Friday. The Poughkeepsie school sent out an alert saying all buildings on campus were closed and advising students to stay in their dorms until further notice.
Authorities determined that there was no credible danger to the college, according to Marist.
Marist says the campus is open, but classes and offices will remain closed for the afternoon. Other activities will take place as scheduled tonight.
Police were on campus investigating the incident and conducting building searches. They will remain on campus to assist Marist security as the campus reopens. Their investigation is ongoing.
A college spokesperson declined to go into specific detail, but says the threat did not have any racial overtones similar to threats that have been made at other colleges this week.
