Hundreds of officers, firefighters and EMS officials from throughout Fairfield County were given a special blessing Sunday.
First responders and their family members attended the 14th annual Blue Mass.
The Mass was a tradition that started after the Sept. 11 attacks.
It is held in churches throughout Connecticut. The ceremonies honor the work of those men and women and also give their families a chance to pray for their safety on the job.
