Maurie McInnis inaugurated as Yale University's first female president

A Yale alum, McInnis took over the position in July from Peter Salovey, who retired after 11 years.

Yale University inaugurated Maurie McInnis on Sunday as its 24th president.
A Yale alum, McInnis took over the position in July from Peter Salovey, who retired after 11 years.
Prior to her new role, McInnis served as the president of Stony Brook University.
McInnis is the first female president to serve in a non-interim basis. Hanna Gray served as interim president for a year between 1977 and 1978.
