Mayor Bloomberg is calling on New Yorkers to work together as temperatures in the Bronx are expected to reach the triple digits this week. Bloomberg is asking people to conserve electricity by turning off lights and appliances not needed. He adds air conditioners should be set no lower than 78 degrees. The mayor says the city is curtailing electric use in 53 municipal buildings and 10 to 20 percent of the elevators are being shut down. Residents looking for a place to cool down can call 311 to find the nearest cooling center or head to a public pool. Related Information: Find a cooling center
