A long-time public safety dispatcher in Stamford died in a car crash early Friday morning, according to Mayor Caroline Simmons.
It happened on I-95 in Greenwich.
According to the police report, Colin Kennedy drifted, hit a metal beam guardrail and veered across lanes before striking a concrete barrier. The report says another car eventually struck Kennedy head on.
Kennedy was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other driver has minor injuries.
"Colin honorably served the City of Stamford for 17 years and was well-loved and respected by his peers and colleagues. He will be greatly missed by all," Simmons said.
