The state medical examiner has confirmed that the Old Greenwich man who set his house on fire Tuesday died of a gunshot wound to the head. Police say 42-year-old Dean Verboven intentionally set fire to his home on Havemeyer Place, with his mother inside. They say the woman, Barbara Verboven, remains in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital. Officials with the town's Department of Social Services say they were scheduled to visit the home that day due to complaints about clutter. Officials: Fatal Greenwich fire started in the kitchen
