Metro-North is offering additional trains this holiday weekend so travelers can avoid the traffic.
Metro-North officials started offering getaway trains from Grand Central Station at around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
There are also extra trains Thursday for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Metro-North officials say they will be also be offering additional inbound trains in the morning and outbound trains in the evening Friday.
They say they will be offering off-peak fares through the holiday weekend.
