Connecticut's Department of Transportation is in talks to replace the parking garage at Stamford's train station, but the head of the Connecticut Metro-North Commuter Council is hoping it takes into account the problems that could come up with the current proposal.

The current garage has 727 parking spaces; while the new one would have an additional 300, it would also be a quarter of a mile away, says Jim Cameron, the chairman of the commuter council. He says the proposed location would be very inconvenient for the thousands of people who use the parking garage every day.

Cameron says the plan would also take three years to complete, which could cause headaches for commuters.
