Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman has opted out of the 2020 season.
Stroman had suffered a calf injury back in mid-July. He cited the COVID-19 outbreaks in Miami and St. Louis as a major factor in his decision.
The former All-Star started just 11 games as a Met. He will be a free agent this offseason.
Mets slugger Yoenis Céspedes previously opted out.
