Big changes to the weather are ahead! Scattered showers and some rumbles of thunder will pass through the area tonight, out ahead of a strong cold front that will deliver a significant temperature drop tomorrow.
Some of the rain will be heavy with embedded gusty storms.
Heaviest rain will exit by 2 a.m. and lighter showers will linger for the morning. Temperatures will be mild at this point.
The cold front comes through, winds will turn northwesterly and can gust up to 25 mph.
Thursday afternoon will be interesting. A blast of cold air drops temperatures into the 40s and upper 30s after lunchtime. Any lingering precipitation will fall as sleet or snow.
Temperatures should remain above freezing, so we won't see any accumulation. It will be a cold, windy and damp afternoon.
The rest of the week is seasonable with morning temperatures in the 30s and highs in the 40s or near 50.
Another storm arrives Sunday evening, which will warm temperatures up with another plunge of arctic air returning next Tuesday.
