Some Milford parents say they are not giving up the fight to keep a Catholic school open after it was announced that St. Gabriel School is slated to be shut down.
St. Gabriel's Parish announced Tuesday night that the school will close at the end of the school year due to financial problems.
According to a financial report last month, the school has a deficit of more than $111,000.
One parent says she is not sure what she is going to do with her son. Her son has been a student at the school for the past three years and she says it is the only school in the area that can accommodate her son's special needs.
There are currently 22 special-needs students in the school.
The Archdiocese of Hartford says it will offer financial aid for St. Gabriel students who transfer to a school within the diocese.
