A Milford family says it captured video during Thursday's storm of what appears to be a tornado.
The Pensiaros family was looking out toward the Long Island Sound at about 6:30 p.m. when they say two cylinder-shaped clouds formed over the water. Though no tornados have been confirmed in the area, the family says the winds were strong enough to blow boats and debris around.
The ferocity of the storm put some on edge. "It was kind of scary because stuff started to flip over, a flag pole bent over, one of our slides flew over the water and two Jet Skis blew away," says Matt Lyddy, of Milford.
Whether a tornado did indeed form will not be determined until the National Weather Service makes an assessment of the storm.
