Thanksgiving isn't here yet and the first snowfall hasn't arrived, but that isn't stopping a Milford man from ushering in Christmas.
Chris Donnells is no Santa Claus, but his car boasts "MRXMAS" custom plates and his house at 75 Meadows End Road is decked out with lights each year. His house is known as "That House in Milford."
"A lot of people would call me crazy," Donnells says. "But I enjoy it. It's Christmas time."
Donnells uses thousands of lights on his property. He begins the week before Halloween. Donnells and his wife plan to flip the switch on their Christmas display the day after Thanksgiving.
"This year, we're doing the big waterfall scene," Donnells says.
He is also hoping to add a few more donors. In 2007, he started using his house's newfound Christmas fame to help fight hunger with the assistance of the Connecticut Food Bank.
His supporters have donated more than $12,000 over the years.
