Milford police are remembering one of their own this week.
Police announced earlier this week that their K-9 Zar passed away.
Zar became a member of the Milford Police Department in 2014 after completing an intense 14-week training program with his handler, Officer Owens.
Zar had several challenging tracks in Milford and surrounding areas that led to suspect apprehension and evidence recovery, officials said.
Zar also participated in many community events and loved being pet by kids.
“Zar, thank you for your fearless service to the City of Milford. You will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his partner, Ofc. Owens. We’ll take it from here,” the police department said in a social media post.
