Milford police are seeking the public's assistance in finding the culprit who they say committed a double stabbing Sunday night.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. at the Spinnaker Green Apartments on Washington Street. Police say Amado Rodriguez, 48, entered a unit where his estranged wife works as a live-in caretaker.
According to police, Rodriguez went into the bedroom in which his wife was sleeping and slashed her neck with a knife. They say he also stabbed the elderly man for whom she cares. Rodriguez then allegedly fled in the man's Connecticut-registered 2011 gray Hyundai Tucson with the license plate 826 YTB.
Police say both victims were taken to the hospital. They are now in stable condition.
Rodriguez is described by police as 5 feet 11 inches tall and 280 pounds with a clean-shaven face and bald head. He is said to have ties to New Britain, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Police say that Rodriguez has an outstanding warrant for a domestic incident in New Britain.
Anyone with information on Rodriguez's whereabouts is urged to call Milford police.
