A patron at Lasse's Restaurant on Route 1 in Milford footed the bill for another, something residents say shows that the holiday spirit is alive and well.
The receiving customer, Leo Meyer, says he was shocked by the act this past Monday. He adds that the gesture completely turned around his day as he wasn't feeling too happy before dinner.
Residents say the act of "paying it forward" reminds people to be more kind during the latter part of the year. One waitress says it brightened her day during a busy shift at the restaurant.
Meyer says he would love to thank whoever paid his check, which totaled about $30. The restaurant's owner says the generous patron would like to remain anonymous.
