A local veteran's community has raised more than $6,000 for a crossing guard critically injured after being hit by a car in Bridgeport.
The Darien VFW has set up a GoFundMe account for post commander and Vietnam veteran Lenny Hunter.
Their goal is to raise $50,000.
As News 12 Connecticut reported, the 68-year-old suffered a fractured skull and two broken legs when he was hit by a car while working on Park Avenue.
Hunter also worked at the Darien Post Office for 30 years.
