Heavy rain clears out tonight; tolerable temperatures Saturday

RIGHT NOW: Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Skyler Harman says there will be several rounds of thunderstorms tonight. There will be several intense bands. The worst of the storms will be until 7 p.m.
Thunderstorms could bring severe weather with damaging wind gusts between 40 to 60 mph, hail and isolated flooding. Impacts to power lines and downed trees are possible throughout the area.
OVERNIGHT: Thunderstorms should clear out by 9 p.m., with lingering stray showers throughout the rest of the overnight. Temperatures drop into the mid-60s.
SATURDAY: A beautiful day overall! Temperatures are much more tolerable in the high-70s. and lows dip to a pleasant and comfortable low-60s. This is more around where we expect to be temperature-wise! Sunshine and clouds. Nice and dry. Truly a lovely beginning to the weekend!
SUNDAY FATHER'S DAY: Another great dry day! Similar temperatures in the high-70s with lows in the low 60s. Sun and clouds again!
MONDAY: Temperatures start the upward climb. We are into the low- to mid-80s with an abundance of sunshine throughout the day. There will be some clouds as well. Temperatures drop into the mid-60s.
TUESDAY: Even warmer. We will break into the high-80s. Another mostly sunny day. Lows fall to the mid- to high-60s. There is the possibility of getting up into the low-90s for much of Western Connecticut, especially in the interior parts.
WEDNESDAY: Temperatures in the low-90s again. Another mostly sunny day without much relief at night with temperatures remaining in the high-60s. Possibly day one or day two of a heat wave. It needs to be three or more days of 90 degrees or warmer to be considered a heatwave. We could see some late afternoon rain and thunderstorms but much of the day still looking dry and hot.
THURSDAY **First day of astronomical summer**: Another 90-degree scorcher! Highs in the low-90s and lows in the high-60s. The heat continues and so does the sun.
FRIDAY: Are you sick of this yet? ANOTHER 90+ degree day. Looking sunny with plenty of time to heat things up.
