A three-car accident that took place in Stratford Thursday night left one Bridgeport mother dead and her son critically injured.
The accident occurred at around 11:45 p.m. near Broadbridge Avenue and Canaan Road. Police say Prudence Soleck, 58, and her son, 30-year-old Matthew Soleck, were stopped at a red light when they were rear-ended by 19-year-old Alexandra Brown, leaving their vehicle crushed between two cars.
According to police, Prudence Soleck was unconscious when they arrived on the scene. Matthew Soleck appeared to be seriously injured and was barely able to speak.
Prudence Soleck did not survive. Matthew Soleck is in surgical ICU at Bridgeport Hospital.
Other victims involved in the crash did not suffer from any life threatening injuries.
