A community came together Thursday to say goodbye to two Stamford brothers killed in a car accident earlier in the month while in Georgia with relatives.
Hundreds gathered at Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church to mourn 9-year-old Joshua Stephens and his 5 year-old brother David. Relatives, as well as strangers, attended to show support for the family.
Police said the Chevy Impala the boys were traveling in crossed a grass median and hit another vehicle. Officials say the boys? mother and the man driving the vehicle were seriously injured in the accident.Many there expressed regret at such young lives being lost.
An athletic fund was set up in the boys' names through Trinity Catholic High School.
