Police are investigating the death of a man who walked onto train tracks in Milford and was fatally struck by a train Thursday.

The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on the tracks east of the Milford station. Police say the male victim rode a bike to the area, got off and then started walking on the tracks.

"Some of the individuals in the parking lot told the officer that a male got off the bike and started walking toward the tracks and [the] train came and struck him," says Officer Vaughan Dumas of the Milford Police Department.

MTA police are reportedly awaiting toxicology reports on the victim.
