The day has officially arrived — single-ride MTA subway and bus fares have gone up for the first time since 2015.

The single-fare price increase from $2.75 to $2.90 took hold Sunday. It’s the first fare hike of any kind since 2019.

Weekly and monthly Metrocards will also go up — a seven-day pass went from $33 to $34, and a 30-day pass rose from $127 to $132.

The MTA approved the hikes months ago for what the agency says is to maintain service levels as they were pre-pandemic, and even possibly increase service.

The MTA says price increases could’ve been worse, but with state funding, they were able to make the jumps a bit less sizable.

For the past few weeks, those who drove over MTA’s bridges and tunnels already saw toll increases of 6% for those using E-ZPass, or 10% for those sent by mail.

For those using the Long Island Rail Road or Metro-North, weekly and monthly tickets are going up 4.5%.

Monthly tickets at their new cost go on sale Friday, while weekly prices shift Wednesday.
