National champions welcomed home by UConn fans

The team returned home from Houston on a New England Patriots plane Tuesday afternoon. After landing at Bradley International Airport, the Huskies headed back to Storrs where the whole campus was waiting.

For the second straight night, Gampel Pavilion was packed to the gills as thousands of fans, students, and supporters welcomed home the National Champions.
UConn men's basketball won its fifth national title since 1999 Monday night after handling San Diego State 76-59.
The team returned home from Houston on a New England Patriots plane Tuesday afternoon. After landing at Bradley International Airport, the Huskies headed back to Storrs where the whole campus was waiting.
Bristol, Connecticut native Donovan Clingan first carried the national championship trophy onto the stage. Head coach Dan Hurley took to the podium to say a few words followed by key players like Jordan Hawkins, Adama Sanogo, and Andre Jackson Jr.
Hurley said, "You've got the best fans in the country here both the students and our fan base throughout the state and the alumni and fans across the country. It's a blue blood program, it's a huge brand."
A parade is scheduled for Saturday in Hartford.
