Students are expressing themselves through an interactive art wall at Norwalk Community College.
The wall was created by Susan Hardesty, a faculty member at the college. She tells News 12 that she posted a tag a couple of weeks ago and students followed suit. She says she wanted to create a place where students could express their hopes, dreams and fears.
"The idea of doing it right here where everybody passes by all the time and you pick up a tag, go in the cafeteria, sit and eat, talk, write, and do whatever you want. It's actually like touch. It's not texting, Facebooking. It's instant social media," Hardesty said.
Some of the dreams and goals are immediate, like passing algebra. Others are life dreams, including ending injustice or winning an Oscar.
"I look at this wall as sort of going back to an earlier and perhaps more personal means of communication," said Ernie Wiegand, professor at Norwalk Community College.
Hardesty says the exhibit will be up for the foreseeable future, and she is thinking about an additional piece to continue the expressions.
