Two New Canaan athletes are at the Rio Olympics competing for the U.S. National Rowing Team.
Charlie Cole and Andrew Campbell Jr. got their rowing starts at the Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk.
The club is run by husband and wife coaches Yan and Olga Vengerovsky, who came to the United States from Russia and started coaching both men at a young age.
Yan says both Cole and Campbell began with the club's middle school program.
Campbell narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympics four years ago. He will row in the men's lightweight doubles in Rio.
Cole will compete in the men's four boat. He took home the bronze medal in that event in 2012 and will try to add to his collection this time around.
Both Cole and Campbell are scheduled to compete in the preliminaries on Monday.
