School officials in New Canaan are taking further steps to crack down on cyberbullying.
A new app, called Streetchat, was recently banned from New Canaan High School. Streetchat users can post photos and messages to a photo board only accessible to their school. Police and school officials fear the app could lead to harassment.
Acting Principal Dr. Veronica LeDuc had the app banned from the school after learning about it from a parent. Students and parents were also given information on cyberbullying.
High school officials says students take part in monthly cyberbullying meetings during school hours. Workshops are also offered during after-school hours for parents.
