Police in New Canaan are warning residents to protect themselves amid a recent spike in daytime home burglaries.
Police say they responded to another break-in Wednesday. They say residents should try their best to make it appear that they are home. Police say simple things like postponing your newspaper delivery when you're away or having your neighbor pick up your mail are just a few things that may help deter thieves.
A woman on Snowberry Lane says she has seen four break-ins in the past two weeks in her area. She says residents are concerned for their safety.
Police are encouraging everyone to lock their doors and use an alarm system if they have one. They plan to increase patrols in the area.
