New Milford police say that 34-year-old Eric Meagan called 911 just before 8:30 a.m. Monday and told operators that he had just killed his mother in the vicinity of the Still River, adjacent to Harrybrooke Park.

Police in New Milford say a man has been taken into custody after saying he had killed his mother.
New Milford police say that 34-year-old Eric Meagan called 911 just before 8:30 a.m. Monday and told operators that he had just killed his mother in the vicinity of the Still River, adjacent to Harrybrooke Park.
Meagan apparently remained on the phone and described the events that led to the incident before being taken into custody.
He is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bond with a court date set for Tuesday in Torrington.
Meagan's mother, Victoria Palmer, was pronounced dead at New Milford Hospital after being transported from the scene.
