One of two access points to the Housatonic River in New Milford has reopened after recently closing due to a drowning.

Simon Hernandez, a 43-year-old Yonkers man, drowned in the Housatonic River earlier in July.

FirstLight, a hydroelectric power company said reservations are now available for access at Dike Point Park in Candlewood Lake 12-8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. The Fisherman's parking lot remains closed.

FirstLight, Eversource and town officials say they're working "to implement solutions to address overcrowding and public safety challenges."
