Newtown school security guard accused of having loaded gun in car on school property

Police said he is charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds.

Newtown police arrested an unarmed school security guard for allegedly having a loaded gun in the passenger compartment of his car.
Police said Charles Baldwin was on the job when this happened.
Baldwin's car was parked in the high school lot.
Police said he is charged with possessing a weapon on school grounds.
According to Connecticut laws, guns can't be left unattended in a car unless it's in the trunk or locked up.
Police said, "there was no threat or danger to students or staff."
