The 2023 NFL Draft began with the First Round on Thursday night. A Newtown native is hoping to hear his name called later on this weekend.
Former News 12 Connecticut Scholar Athlete Bobby Haskins is all grown up. The 6-foot 7 295-pound offensive lineman had a solid college career which included stops at Virginia and the University of Southern California. Haskins says he's ready for a new chapter: making the jump to the NFL.
"Don't know exactly where I'll go. I'm hoping to go sometime on Saturday, but at the end of the day I really want an opportunity," Haskins said.
He can join a short list of players from Fairfield Prep to be drafted by an NFL team.
"I'm just so blessed and fortunate to have the opportunity that's coming," he added.
