New Jersey Transit says that all services have resumed full weekday schedules today.
Only the bus, light rail, Access Link and the Atlantic City Rail Line have been operating on weekday schedules. All other rail lines were operating on a Severe Weather Level 2 schedule, which NJ Transit says is essentially a weekend schedule.
“We on purpose announced a weekend schedule this morning because when you’re coming out of a snowstorm of this magnitude, you’re always gonna have mechanical problems, you’re always gonna have infrastructure problems,” said NJ Transit president & CEO Kris Kolluri.
Commuters tell News 12 that the limited service impacted their days. Andrew Maran says that he almost missed his medical appointment due to the issue.
"I got there for the 7:09 a.m., but I was told the next train would be 7:48 a.m., but they sent through a special train without even telling us about it. So I got into Newark on time, but then it took like 40 minutes to get a train into New York,” he says.

Another commuter mentioned that, despite overcrowded trains, rail still seemed like the better option to and from Manhattan.
“Sometimes I go driving, but for example, today was not possible,” said Newark resident Daniel Silva. “New York is very full of snow, packs of snow.”
NJ Transit suspended services on Sunday due to a major winter storm. Service resumed on Monday with limited schedules.
