No child tax credit included in current state budget proposal

Gov. Ned Lamont says he will only support a child tax credit if it stays within the state spending cap.

State lawmakers have left a child tax credit out of the state budget.
Last year, the state comptroller sent parents rebate checks.
"We're in the early stages of a long session and a long budget process, and I know that there's a lot of support within the Legislature for extending that child tax rebate and for creating a child tax credit," said state Comptroller Sean Scanlon.
