No-shave November is now official business for the Trumbull Police Department.
Effective Oct. 15 through Dec. 31, the department has announced that it will be suspending its official prohibition on growing a goatee or beard "for the sole purpose of fundraising for any personnel."
Additionally, female employees may have their fingernails painted a shade of blue.
The department says that funds raised from now until Oct. 31 will go toward medical expenses for one of its officers and his family.
Proceeds collected from Nov. 1-30 will go to The Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center, and the Scholarship Fund in Criminal Justice for St. Joseph and Trumbull High School students.
Any funds raised from Dec. 1-31 will help support the families of the two Bristol police officers recently killed in the tragic ambush shooting on Oct. 12.
