Greenwich police say one of their four-legged officers will soon have a protective vest thanks to the work of a nonprofit organization.
Police say the group Vested Interest in K9s will provide the stab- and bulletproof vest for police dog, Kato. The vest is being made and Kato will get it in about 10 weeks.
They say Macy's department store also sponsored a grant to outfit two dogs in the northeast region with the vests.
They cost $1,050 per vest.
