The nor'easter Friday caused road flooding and brought down trees and power lines in coastal areas of western Connecticut.
By Friday night, the precipitation had subsided although the strong winds remained, as well as icing and flooding concerns. Going toward the Old Greenwich train station on Sound Beach Avenue, considerable damage could be seen from snapped utility pole that closed part of the street and caused some outages.
Earlier in the day in Westport, there was flooding all along Harbor Road in the Saugatuck Shores area.
At the corner of Main and Canal streets, some damage was reported that included a fallen pole and a pine tree that fell across power lines. Winds in the town were gusting upward of 45 mph.
A utility pole snapped on South Compo Road, where it intersects with Greens Farms Road, causing police to quickly close the road. Power was knocked out for the surrounding area.
Officials urged anyone who experiences a power outage to immediately notify their service company.
