Officials in Greenwich say Friday's nor'easter hit their town hard, especially in woodsy areas near the Merritt Parkway.
Drivers had to wind around a mighty oak tree that crashed into a historic home on the Post Road.
"It was a really loud sound and I could feel a vibration," says owner Jenny Larkin.
First Selectman Peter Tesei watched as crews brought the tree down.
"The priority right now is to make safe conditions so that our crews can work with Eversource to get the roads open," he says.
For anyone needing to get warm or charge their phones, the Public Safety Center is open around-the-clock. The Western Greenwich Civic Center and library are also available.
