A Norwalk Yellow Cab driver is dead following a stabbing early Monday morning.
Police say Jackson Pierre-Louis, 51, of Bridgeport, was attacked just after midnight Monday.
Officers say Pierre-Louis was stabbed several times, then crashed his cab into an SUV in a driveway on Grove Street.
News 12 is told that Pierre-Louis was able to call for help and was taken to Norwalk Hospital, where he later died.
Police say they are following up on leads, but are not releasing a motive at this time. They will not say if the suspect was a passenger in Pierre-Louis' cab.
The victim worked for different cab companies in Bridgeport and Westport for years. Bridgeport Yellow Cab Company drivers say he was well-known and well-liked.
Pierre-Louis' family created a memorial at the scene of the crash. They say he was a father of four.
Norwalk police say anyone who may have witnessed the crime or who may have ridden in that cab last night should call them.
