The Christmas season arrived early this year in Norwalk.

St. Matthew Church kicked off its second annual Christmas Fair on Saturday with a packed house that offered everything from decorations and jewelry, to clothes and basket raffles.

All the money raised goes to support the church and its charity programs.

Local businesses or members of the church donated just about everything that was on sale.

Officials say the fair used to be a yearly tradition, but stopped before the COVID-19 pandemic, only to be brought back last year, by popular demand.

"One of the things about our parish, St. Matthew, is it's a parish where people come up with ideas and have ways to implement them. They don't just give it to you and say, 'father you need to do this.' They come up and say, 'I've got some friends, we've already talked about it, and here it is.' So it was very successful last year, and it seems even more successful today," said Fr. Frank Hoffmann, pastor of St. Matthew Church.

The Christmas fair is open again on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
