A tape has surfaced that allegedly supports a Norwalk firefighter's claim that the department uses racially insensitive language.
Scot Wilson accuses the Norwalk Fire Department of racial discrimination. Wilson's tape shows a group of men he says are firefighters sitting at a table using racist words to describe African-Americans and Hispanics. Although the mayor and fire chief have not seen the tape, they have promised a full investigation into its contents.
Wilson admits he has an alcohol problem, however, he claims racism is one cause for his drinking. He is on unpaid suspension and a hearing that could lead to his firing is scheduled for next week.
