Irish pride was on full display in Norwalk Thursday as the city held its first-ever St. Patrick's Day parade.
Mayor Harry Rilling served as the grand marshal as the parade made its way down North Main Street and ended at O'Neill's Pub and Restaurant around 12 p.m.
Lt. Terry Blake, of the Norwalk Police Department, says the idea for the parade came from the newly formed Norwalk Police Emerald Society, made up of the city's police and fire departments and its EMS team.
Blake says on top of organizing the parade, the Norwalk Police Emerald Society plans on becoming a philanthropic organization.
