A Norwalk man's Instagram post is going viral after he shared the story of how he formed a friendship in an unusual place seven years ago.

In 2018, Kendrick Constant received a series of text messages from a group chat he was added to. It was for Brent Milner's 50th birthday. As he read the messages, Constant realized his phone number must've been added mistakenly. Instead of leaving the conversation or remaining silent, Kendrick decided to make his presence known.

He told the group he was added by mistake and was sad to be missing out on the fun. That night earned him the nickname 'New Guy'. Constant even photoshopped himself into their group photo to 'celebrate' with them.

"We want to connect as people. We want to see the people in people first, and I like that this is inspiring people to do that versus like the surface or what our judgement or bias sees. Like seeing the people first, that can lead to a lot of good," said Constant.
