Norwalk police are investigating a string of drug overdoses that left two people dead.
Officials say there were a total of seven overdoses over a 24-hour span this weekend. They say the overdoses happened in a variety of different places across the city.
Police say it's too early to tell if all of the overdoses are related, but they say there were some consistencies with all of the incidents. They say the drugs seized appeared to be crack-cocaine laced with opiates, and are waiting on lab results to confirm those findings.
On Saturday evening, investigators say they arrested 29-year-old Norwalk resident Eric Frank after conducting a sting operation in a Best Buy parking lot.
They say Frank tried to sell crack-cocaine that may have been laced with fentanyl, according to field tests. Officials are currently investigating to see if Frank may be connected to the overdoses.
Police say Frank has been charged with selling narcotics and assaulting a police officer. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond.
