Norwalk police say they are investigating recent thefts involving cooking oil.
They say a video captured men cutting off a lock to a grease trap early this morning on Connecticut Avenue.
They say the men left without getting the oil because they saw police officers who then stopped the truck.
Investigators say thieves usually take the oil to sell it to companies that turn it into biofuel.
Police say the men were not arrested in this case, but they are investigating other incidents and are working with other local police departments.
