The manhunt for a Norwalk police officer's killer continued Saturday as friends, colleagues and family members continue to grieve the tragic loss.
Officer Matthew Morelli was gunned down early Friday morning in a secluded parking lot on Lubano Place. Police say he was looking into suspicious activity in the area at the time of his death. Detectives continuing to probe the crime scene told News 12 Connecticut they want no stones left unturned.
Weston's police chief, a childhood friend of Morelli's, recalls a dedicated police officer who lived for his profession.
"He told me it was one of the best days when he got hired as a Norwalk police officer," says Chief John Troxell of the Weston Police Department. "He was a good kid. He grew into a good man."
